Despicable Me Minion Birthday Party
My twin boys Liam and Jude turned 3 this past August 16th, and I hosted a Despicable Me Minion party for them since they watch the movie over and over. It really is the cutest movie and their first time in a movie theater was when we went to see Despicable Me 2, so they were so excited when they saw the party decor.
Above is the cake/sweets table. I made the backdrop with a cardboard presentation board I found at Walmart for $2.77. I also found a Despicable Me Minion poster that I glued to the board, and then I printed out and glued the two
Happy Birthday To Me Minion images to it as well.
The
Table Cloth,
Dinner Plates, and
cups were purchased from ShinDigz.com, and the
party hats,
balloons, and
decorating kit were all purchased on Amazon.
The
Operation Despicable Me 2 Game was also purchased on Amazon.
Now let's talk about the food!
Now the cake was just phenomenal and I can't say enough about how perfect it was! The cake was created by
Cake Art and the inside was a fun, confetti cake, with yummy vanilla frosted layers. I mean look at this cake!!!! I'm still utterly amazed! It really broke my heart to cut into it.
Next up are the adorable Minion Cake Pops created by the very talented
Yummy! Sweet Shop.
They were not only super cute, but tasted so good! They were a huge hit with the kids. The detail on these little guys is just amazing!
Next are the Despicable Me Candy Minions.
I made these little chocolate covered spoons myself, and you can find the directions on how to make them
HERE.
Next up are the Despicable Me Minion Cupcakes created by
Ashbee's Cupcakes and Such.
How cure are these little guys?
I also decided to add some "Coconutties" from the movie to the table.
I used
Keebler Coconut Dreams cookies as the "Coconutties" and I printed out and constructed the Coconutties box from an online image found
Here
And here are the birthday boys Liam and Jude sporting their personalized minion shirts from
PolkaBean on Etsy. I also purchased the file for the printable Minion Goggles from
Schnookers on Etsy.
I purchased the Happy Birthday Banner on
Amazon, and printed out Minion eyes and mouths (from
EmporioEliteDigital on Etsy) onto sticker paper and stuck them on yellow balloons and a few gifts.
Stepping outside the kids had a blast in this Toy Story inflatable (we couldn't find a Despicable Me one at the time). This super fun bounce house has a large jump area, basketball hoop inside with ball, and a ladder and slide. You can even attach a water hose to the top of the slide if you wanted. We rented this bounce house from
Rommel's Ace Hardware.
So I hope you enjoyed this party, and if you are planning a Despicable Me Minion Party, I hope this post was helpful to you as well.
