Butter London Rock Your Colour – Part Two

Continuing from part one of my Butter London cosmetics review, this post will be all about eyes.

First up is a cream shadow in Indigo Punk, which is not indigo at all. It’s a lovely lavender shimmer.

It’s a little sheer on the first pass, but you can build it up for a more dramatic look. I recommend applying it over a decent primer, because it’s a pain to work with otherwise – very patchy on my bare lid.

Next up are the eye liners in Union Jack Black and Indigo Punk.

I had two different experiences with these liners. One performed well, the other… not so much. You can probably tell from the swatch below which was which.

Union Jack Black – A great ‘jet black’ eye pencil. It has a smooth application, sets quickly, and wears well. You won’t get 24-hour staying power, but it will get you through a work day or a night out.

Indigo Punk – The application on this liner is uneven. To get the most impact, you need to go over your line two or three times. Also, while it sets as quickly as the black liner, it not as long-lasting.

And finally, the mascaras in Indigo Punk and Brown Sugar.

Indigo Punk - Man, it looks so cool in the tube, eh? I tend to have issues with colored mascaras showing up, but this gorgeous violet is visible after just one coat, which is what you’ll see in the swatch below.

However, it isn’t particularly vibrant, so I would suggest applying it over another mascara (or doubling coats) if you want a bold, in-your-face result.

Brown Sugar – This one mostly looks like a soft black on my lashes. It wears well without flaking and is easy to remove with my regular makeup remover.

Both mascaras transferred a bit to the skin under the lashes, so that’s something to keep in mind if clean up is a concern. It’s also worth noting that all of Butter London’s mascaras can be used on brows and hair, as well.

That’s it! What do you think of the collection? Are any of the products / shades calling out your name?
