Our Wedding: The Day(s) After

The day after our wedding was certainly a major recovery day for all!

My aunt was so nice and hosted a great brunch for our immediate family and wedding party, where Kevin and I opened some of our gifts.

He was really excited about our down comforter…

After brunch, we took a few out of towners to the Anheuser Busch brewery for a free tour. Before our wedding, we were thinking this would be the best idea ever! We thought of it this way: we’d continue the weekend with our friends and family since we didn’t leave for our honeymoon until Monday, and doing a brewery tour would be perfect for the people visiting from out of town. Perfect, right? Nope! Don’t get me wrong, we had a good time, but I think we all could have slept the day away if possible. I don’t think any of us drank our two free beers at the end of the tour, either. That’s when you know it was rough!

This is why my best advice EVER to any bride is to NOT leave for your honeymoon the day after your wedding!

Once our last family members and friends left for the airport and headed home, Kevin and I went back to my parents house to do some major relaxing! We ordered Angelo’s Pizza (our favorite!) and indulged in leftover ice cream from our rehearsal dinner and reception.

We also opened all of our cards that we received. That’s always fun!

I think we were all in bed by 8:30 p.m. that night. Much needed!

We woke up on Monday feeling refreshed and did some laundry/finished packing because we left for our honeymoon later that day!

Before we headed to the airport, we stopped by Pasta House to have lunch with my grandparents, aunt and German family! It was so good to see them again…after all, they traveled all the way to St. Louis for our wedding!

This is how the Bladdick’s take a family picture:

What can I say, we were a little tired.

And that concludes our wedding weekend! I have a few more posts (I’m well aware that it’s March and we got married in October), but remember – I blog so I can remember all of these great moments and I don’t want to leave anything out!
