Sweet Summertime

Happy (late) 4th of July!

Here’s what we’ve been up to as of late:

Many of our evenings have been spent out on our deck. (Side note: isn’t this sign cute? My aunt got it for us!)

Our string light project was featured on Relish Magazine’s website…can you believe it?! I can’t! It’s still our favorite house project to date.

Unfortunately, the USA team lost but man those were some exciting games! I made sure to sport the red, white and blue at work on game days.

Gracie girl is the World’s Most Spoiled Dog. Check out this package she got from her Grandma Bladdick (my mom) last week. I was so confused when I read the package at first but then realized it was JUST for Grace! Stay tuned for another post this week about her being spoiled again (post will include a giveaway, dog owners!).

Since it’s been so nice out, we decided to take on the dreaded task of chopping some limbs down that touch our house. We LOVE all the trees in our yard, but the branches get pretty out of control.

At the end of the day, it looked like we literally chopped down an entire tree.

On Wednesday night, we went to one of our favorite spots, El Mundo, for some happy hour margs. You can’t beat the $4 special. These are the best in town! We celebrated our friend Kirsten’s third year of med school…

And also ended up placing a terrible bet on our future child’s middle name. Bad decisions are made after El Mundo margs!

And then I FaceTimed my parents on the drive home. They appreciated that. (My dad’s a goof but God love ‘em.)

I had the 4th of July off work (woot woot!) and spent it poolside with Sara. I may or may not be suffering from a terrible sunburn.

But it was worth it because the day was gorgeous! Oh sweet, summertime. How I love you!

Later on the 4th, we had Kevin’s mom and sister in town, as well as Danny and Sara over for a cookout!

The feast was delish.

Kevin’s mom brought three types of dessert and I pretty much died and went to heaven over her apple crisp a la mode. And aren’t her festive strawberries cute?!

Today I am celebrating my baby brother’s birthday from afar. Can’t believe my “baby” brother is 20 years old! It’s nuts! (Let’s not talk about the height of my shorts…but can we talk about how my parent’s dressed my brother and I like twins even though we’re six years apart? Ha!)

Here’s more proof my parent’s dressed us like twins:

Matching Cayman Island shirts they bought us on our cruise.

And my personal favorite, matching Tigger shorts AND shirt from a Disney World vacation. Ha!

Apparently I didn’t know how to smile as a child.

Oh and one last thing…Old Navy has an amazing sale right now ($5 swim suit separates, 50% off many items, etc.) and I found this gorgeous maxi dress on sale for less than $20! I also picked up a new swim suit seeing as how the last suit I bought was in 2011 before our Destin vacation.

Ladies, run to the nearest Old Navy! I typically don’t like how their clothes fit me, but both the dress and suit are very flattering and, well, ya can’t beat that sale. (Here’s the suit that I got. Taking a selfie in a dress is one thing, but I wasn’t about to do that in a swim suit.)
