obsession #08082013: the floral sunglasses

obsession name: Dolce & Gabbana Women Sunglasses Barocco Collection – Butterfly Frame in Gold

why the obsession:

One of my most favorite things about our house in Denver is the fact that the previous owners were landscapers. Really what this translates into is that I get “surprised” with flowers almost every month. Case in point – in early spring my husband threatened to pull these “random weeds” which turned out to be hot pink peonies, early summer the “dead bushes” turned out not to be dead at all but rather teacup roses – and most recently, the “filler bush” out back is springing pretty purple flowers, which, I don’t know what it’s called but kinda looks like lily of the valley (?). In any case, I love seeing flowers from unexpected places, so you can bet how happy I was they turned up in the prettiest pair of sunglasses I’ve ever seen. It may be a little too baroque for some, but for me, I’m completely obsessed with Dolce and Gabbana’s Barocco Collection, specifically with this butterfly frame in gold.

I’m obsessed with these glasses for many reasons. First, the opulence!!!! It’s so luxurious, I can only imagine you feel like a million bucks with these babies on. Second, the gold and the white temple tips make this perfect for either summer or fall. Third, just when you think you’ve seen it all with sunglass design, this concept of floral frames feels so new and different. I definitely seem to see more designers play around more with their sunglass designs than in the past, it’s not just a simple accessory anymore. The only thing is, I’m not sure that you can get these online, looks like I will have to visit D&G sunglass retailers to see if I can see this in real life… (and of course, try them on).
