Jemma is the creator of online travel guide www.littlebalilove.com which provides families all over the world with advice, inspiration and tips on all the best places to eat, play, shop, stay, see, experience and explore when holidaying in Bali…
3 travel essentials….
Suntan lotion, a sarong and a good book.
Best part about Little Bali Love…..
Combining my love for Bali with an online business that allows me to work from home and fits in with our family lifestyle, our interests and my other job – being a mamma!
Most challenging…..
Dealing with the insane amount of emails, proposals, Facebook messages, Insta comments, and questions we receive on a daily basis… It’s crazy sometimes, but I do love it!
Best advice you’ve ever received….
Love what you do, and do what you love! Often it’s as simple as that.
Favourite travel souvenir…
Probably Buddhas… I have quite a collection now and they can be found in almost every room of the house.
Insider travel tips…
- Keep an open mind
- Explore and get outside your comfort zone
- Have a “go with the flow” attitude… especially when travelling with kids
- Plan, but don’t over plan
Kaftans or kinis….
Both!
My desk is……
Colourful organised chaos!
I drink a lot of…..
Water, Coconuts, Tea (my faves are Lemongrass & Ginger and Chai) and Champagne…. Love my bubbles!
A perfect day in Bali….
No commitments. No meetings. No running around. No reviews for Little Bali Love. Just chilling and moving to the beat of our own drum….
Waking up to the sound of the local dogs, roosters and the girls jumping on the bed… followed by snuggles in bed, then out for a gorgeous, colourful, healthy breakfast somewhere delicious. Watercress is one of our local faves and is great for kids, but if it is the weekend and we want a more “fancy” brunch then you can’t beat La Lucciola, Ku De Ta or Petitenget… Then we would follow brekkie with a fun activity for the girls – whatever they want to do – they love having a pony ride at BEC, a manicure at Think Pink, or creating some new jewels at Be Creative…. Then home for a swim… Then in the late afternoons we love nothing more than to hit the beach. It’s the perfect time of day for little ones, as the sun is not too hot and there are always other local kids around to play with. We’ll have a paddle, go for a walk, make sandcastles, search for shells and other treasures, and enjoy a cheeky ice-cream…. When sunset comes it’s BBQ corn on the cob for all, fresh young coconuts and an icy cold Bintang for Mamma and Pappa…. Followed by a cheap and easy warung dinner – the girls are addicted to chicken satay – then home for a bath, storytime, more snuggles and bed….
One of my favourite books filled with beautiful photos and inspiring words
