Orange Lipsticks to Try

The last couple Mondays we’ve chatted about lipstick colors to wear. We talked about the perfect red lipstick and how to get it. Then we talked about rocking a pink lipstick because it’s absolutely perfect for spring. And then I thought it would be perfect to add orange to that list!

Wait – stop! Don’t go anywhere! I promise, orange lipstick is not as crazy as it sounds! You, too, can rock the orange lip. Check out how some celebs have done it.

They look gorgeous and I know what you’re thinking. Of course they can wear orange lipstick, they have a professional stylist, makeup artists, & hair person at their beck and call. Must be nice. But I’m here to tell ya that us ‘everyday gals’ can do it to. And an orange lipstick is exactly what you need to usher in spring.

Let’s start with some tips for wearing orange lipstick.

• Keep the rest of your look clean & simple. I actually think Scarlet Johansson’s look here is a little too much on the eyes. See how on the other two their eyes are simple or just a strong eye liner. Perfect!
• Choose a shade that works for you. Bright is good, but there are also options of a more subdued coral that would work well too. If you’re not yet that comfortable with wearing a bright colored lipstick, start with a more sheer color.
• Foundation. Orange has a tendency to draw out other red tones in your skin so sport this look with some medium coverage foundation.
• Bronze. Instead of blush, opt for bronzer. Apply to your cheeks, forehead, and down your nose for a careless beachy-beauty look.
