Break up with your Makeup this Summer!

During the summer months I definitely feel like wearing less face makeup, if I end up wearing any makeup at all! It’s hot and usually we end up at the pool or something so there is really no point. Up until a little while ago, I didn’t feel comfortable going without makeup. For some reason my skin had been freaking out!

I’ve been trying quite a few things lately and finally it’s under control. I’ve been able to break up with my makeup and I love it! I love the freedom I have to wear it if I want but not feel like I have to put it on. I’ve partnered with Mirvaso to share ways to “Break up with your Makeup” so you too can be makeup free and confident this summer!

Tips to Break up with your Makeup

1.) Lots of Water!

I know you probably know this and I know it’s been said a million times before, but there’s a reason. When I stopped drinking diet coke and coffee, it’s made a big difference with my skin. If you feel like this is too much of a leap for you, try limiting them and cutting down on things.

If you have trouble with how boring water can be, try adding some fresh fruit for a fruit infused drink. I love fresh lemons and blueberries, or even strawberry and kiwi. Mmmmmm sounds good doesn’t it? It’ll make your water consumption go by so much faster!

2.) Cleanse

Often times the reason your skin is bad is because of something you have going into your body. Something you’re eating or drinking that doesn’t sit well with you for some reason. A cleanse is basically eliminating toxins that are already in the body and stops us from adding more. There are a ton of ways to do it, sometimes through companies like Advocare or Arbonne or just doing it yourself by strictly watching your diet. Not so much how much you eat, but how healthy and whole is what you put in your body. After you cleanse you can have a better idea what works for you and what doesn’t and slowly add back in food groups. I’ve done a few (currently half way through one right now!) and I LOVE them.

3.) Exercise

Didn’t you know? Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t. (Name that movie!)

But seriously, exercising is part of getting those toxins out of you. You don’t have to exercise like you see other people doing it either, just find something that works for you. Yoga, Pilates, weights, running, zumba, they are all great options! Find something is find and make time to do it a few times a week!

4.) Go Makeup Free

I make it a point to go without makeup at least once during the week. It gives your skin time to breath and freshen up. Choose a day you’re at home doing nothing all day. Make sure you drink a lot of water and relax, your skin needs a rest too!

5.) Get what you need

I would like to think that you can heal everything all the time with all natural things. And some things you can and that’s great! But when you’ve tried it all and you’re still frustrated, it’s okay to check out options. I mean, we have advanced this far in medicine and have made life a lot easier because of it!

Mirvaso is the first and only FDA approved treatment developed and indicated for persistent facial redness of rosacea. It’s an easy-to-use gel that you can apply daily for 12 hour relief. If you struggle with redness of rosacea their site actually had a lot of good information. It talks about what can set it off and what to avoid.
