January Beauty Favourites.

Although January is supposedly the most depressing month of the year has actually been pretty good for me (apologies for being that annoying, happy person), despite the ever pouring rain and early morning starts of working life. I was offered and started a paid (can I just underline paid) full time job in entertainment social media and received my first ever pay cheque- the joy from which really cannot be underestimated. On the beauty front, January has been mainly about putting a bit more effort into my routine with regard to haircare, skin care, nail care etc so a fair few favourites have stemmed from aiming to just be a better with my overall beauty routine.

Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash A face wash....not the most exciting thing in the world but nevertheless an essential step. Despite the copious amounts of booze, chocolate and general gluttony of the Christmas period, my skin has managed to stay remarkably clear and since this has been the only major change up in my skin routine I'm attributing it to this little gem. This all natural face wash made with a plethora of essential oils is great at removing daily grime and keeping the skin completely clear. I think since using is I've had only one spot which vanished within a couple of days and that was not down to healthy eating or exercise...believe me. My normal issue with a lot of face washes is the way in which they often leave the skin feeling tight and dry but this leaves it completely hydrated. I use this morning and night and damn, it works.
Redken Extreme Anti Snap My hair should be in absolutely awful condition considering I had my last cut over 7 months ago *holds head in hands* and I was really starting to bare the brunt with exceedingly dry and a lil bit straw-like hair. But after Lily Melrose raved about this in her 2013 favourites, I thought that this would be a good option for getting some hydration back into the barnet and prevent further damage. True to its word, its kept my hair feeling nourished and manageable.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm *Product worth the hype alert*, after suffering with the most chapped, sore and generally disgusting lips this winter, despite trying many, many a lip balm from the drugstore, I decided enough was enough and made a lunch hour trip to Space NK and returned with this. Not only does have the most gorgeous citrusy scent, it turned my lips around in no less than 4 DAYS, returning them to their hydrated and plumped self. A literal miracle worker.
Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat I tried to go without this after it went gloopy beyond repare last year but I couldn't and now reunited with it I've realised just how good this stuff is. It makes your nails dry in a minute, leaves the glossiest finish to rival Shellac and makes your polish stick around a hell of a lot longer too. I find this adhere's particularly well to Essie polishes, making your manicure last for 5 days without chipping.

Benefit The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine Loose Powder
I recently reviewed this here and its continuing to wow me with it's skin-blurring qualities. I'm not really a powder person but this mattifies the skin justtt the right amount without looking cakey or too full coverage which I am nottt a fan of at all. It's also mighty fine at blurring pores which is one of my least favourite things about my skin! The packaging is very nifty with a built-in mini kabuki, great for on-the-go application.

Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara
This is a new favourite mascara of mine which reminds me very much of Max Factor False-Lash Effect, providing oodles of length and volume which lasts all day. I find that you can go steady for a natural look or build it up for a false-seque set of lashes.

Revlon Colourburst Lipgloss in 'Peony'
This is a gorgeous day time peachy-pink shade with flecks of gold shimmer which I've loved wearing for a no-makeup makeup look recently. I find the forumla of these to be lovely too, keeping the lips moisturising and isn't too sticky. I know this one is going to be sticking around in my makeup bag as a fail-safe Spring shade.
