I was like many of you out there, drooling over and excited about these new liquid lipsticks from Too Faced. I actually exercised some self control (mark this day in history!) and purchased just one shade to try. I surprised myself by going for a nude shade instead of bold. Melted Nude is a peachy brown that is warm toned. It is a perfect nude shade for me, one of the few I have tried that I can wear straight instead of needing a lip liner to make it work. You can see it worn in a full face look in this warm neutral face of the day.
These come in squeeze tubes that have a soft, doe foot applicator. It works well for applying product to my lips. This was very pigmented and needed very little product to color my lips. It goes on smooth and didn’t highlight any dry spots on my lips. The color was long lasting, and it even held up well to eating and drinking (though a slight touch up was still needed).
This did have a couple of cons for me though. I found the formula to be drying. After a few hours it was noticeable to me that this was drying my lips out. This didn’t offer the high gloss finish that Too Faced claims it does. It was glossy when first applied, but it quickly set and looked more matte/satin.
I still really like this despite it being drying and not glossy, and do plan to get more shades (dying for a few of the bolder ones).
