LA Colors 16 Color Eyeshadow Palettes

Y’all, I am about to GUSH over these palettes.

I was shopping at my local Fred Meyer, and I saw a display filled with these. I didn’t even realize they were L.A. Colors. The colors grabbed me, and each palette that I looked at made me gasp at the shades. I looked at the price, $4.99 each, and couldn’t believe they were so inexpensive. I know L.A. Colors is an inexpensive brand, but 16 shadows for $4.99? Wowza! I bought all three that I saw (I don’t know enough about these yet to know how many palettes there are, and if these are limited edition) and Instagrammed them as soon as I got home.

I love the color scheme of each palette. All of them are shimmer shades. Haute is a selection of colorful brights, Sweet is a selection of neutrals, and Smokin’ is a selection of deep smoky shades. There is not a single color in these that I don’t like. Sometimes with palettes with this large of a selection there is a shade or two I don’t really care about, but I can’t quit looking at these. They are just so beautiful!

The formula is consistent across the board. The shadows feel creamy to the touch, and have a super soft buttery texture. This does mean you can have a touch of fallout, but it wasn’t all over the place. They applied well and blended easily. There are two exceptions, the orange shade in Haute and the white shade in Smokin’. These were a touch less soft, though by no means were they duds. They applied and blended just as nicely as the rest of the shadows. And pigmentation? These are all packed with color! I couldn’t get over it. I wore a few shades from each palette yesterday, and I didn’t experience a bit of creasing or fading. Obviously I have not worn every shade in these on my eyes (I bought it late Saturday and tested it yesterday to get this up quick for everyone eager to know more about them), but since the formula and pigmentation was consistent and the shadows I tried from each palette all wore the same, I feel pretty confident that all of them will wear well.

I am super impressed. If I had to compare them to a higher end brand, I would say texture and pigmentation resembles Urban Decay eyeshadows. This is the quality I wish the Maybelline The Nudes palette had been. These blow this out of the water.

My only gripe is the packaging. I found these hard to open. I was worried I would break a nail trying to get these open. Other than that this is a home run from L.A. Colors.
