How to Create a Fabulous Feature Fireplace for Spring

You may not use your fireplace to heat your home in the spring and summer months but that doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t enhance your home visually. You can create stunning displays that reflect the season and decorate this space with spring flowers, candles and more. With this in mind, here are four ways to create a feature fireplace for spring.

Spring Scents
While your fire may lay dormant in the warmer months, the fireplace itself can be used as a platform to scent your home for spring. You can do this in a number of ways depending on the amount of space you require. For example you can use a number of mason jars to house scented tea lights or you can fill a decorative bowl with spring scented potpourri. Choose light scents that aren’t overpowering like the freshly cut grass, freshly washed linen or floral scents.

Beautiful Blooms
The easiest way to create a stunning fireplace is to decorate it with your favourite seasonal flowers. Tulips, Peonies, Daffodils and Bluebells are perfect for this time of year and can’t fail to brighten up your room and draw your eyes toward the focal point of your room. Plant them in pastel coloured plant posts or dainty transparent vases.

Pretty Pastels
Pastel shades are bang on trend for spring so incorporate these pale shades in any accessories you choose to include in your spring themed display. One of the simplest ways to display colourful accessories is to house them in large glass apothecary jars at each end of your mantelpiece. Faux pastel coloured eggs in the palest blues and pinks can look great inside a transparent jar and especially appropriate for the moths up to Easter.

Vintage Tea Cups
A basic fireplace like the ones at Fireplace Products can be dressed up easily with a few vintage tea cups. You can find these at affordable prices at online auction sites or at your local thrift store or car boot sale. If you don’t have a lot of space on the mantelpiece itself, you can hang them on the surrounding wall space and fill them with moss and spring flowers.

Creating a spring themed mantelpiece display needn’t cost a fortune. Get creative and recycle old household items to create a seasonal display that is guaranteed to delight your guests.
