celerie kemble for henredon

One of our most favorite recent designer collaborations to the hit market is by NYC interior decorator Celerie Kemble. She’s teamed up with classic American furniture manufacturer Henredon to create a collection that is true to Celerie’s style–equal parts function and glamour. Celerie features lots of 20th Century styling references in her collection, harkening back to shapes and pieces made famous by designers like Sister Parish and Tony Duquette. The 60 plus piece collection is strong in all areas, all the way down to the accessories she made with Maitland-Smith. But our most coveted pieces are definitely the case pieces–they are fantastic and you’ll be hard pressed to find anything similar in a retail setting. Below, the serpentine short sofa, a staple of Celerie’s designs for many years.

Below left, the Serpentine Short Sofa, and right, her gilt Ruffle End Table. Celerie loves curvy furniture with graceful, rounded edges.

This is what the top of the brass scalloped table above looks like; it’s made out of emerald green dyed penshell. We love all of the hidden pops of color like this that are sprinkled throughout the collection.

The Ravenel Bookcase, below, has a mirrored back panel that makes the perfect backdrop for all of your favorite accessories. The cut-out, geometric shelves are a great alternative to the typical bookcase.

We love that these Serpentine dressers can be used as bedside tables (great storage!) or bunched together as a double dresser on a long wall. They would even work as a server in a dining room or under the TV in a family room. Much of what makes Celerie’s line for Henredon so appealing is how multi-functional so many of the pieces are–the Serpentine Bunching Chest is a great example of that.

Below left, the Cassandra chair and right, the Ellsworth console.

We’re always looking for interesting lacquered consoles so we were pretty excited to discover Celerie’s Ellsworth console in creme lacquer finish. We’re looking forward to specifying some of these fabulous pieces very soon! Click here to see the full collection and to find a dealer near you.
