Enter the Boxtrolls Patch Sweepstakes for your chance to win a trip to L.A!

If you read my blog on a regular basis you have probably seen posts about the upcoming movie release called The Boxtrolls. It looks like a really fun movie and I can’t wait to see it with my family around September 26, 2014 when the movie opens in theaters across the country.

Just in case you haven’t heard of the movie yet check out the trailer.

A family event movie from the creators of Coraline and ParaNorman that introduces audiences to a new breed of family – The Boxtrolls, a community of quirky, mischievous creatures who have lovingly raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs (voiced by Isaac Hempstead-Wright) in the amazing cavernous home they’ve built beneath the streets of Cheesebridge. When the town’s villain, Archibald Snatcher (Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley), comes up with a plot to get rid of the Boxtrolls, Eggs decides to venture above ground, “into the light,” where he meets and teams up with fabulously feisty Winnifred (Elle Fanning). Together, they devise a daring plan to save Eggs’ family.

Doesn’t it look like a cute (and funny!) movie?

I love the Boxtrolls. Some of them are really funny looking.

In honor of the film’s upcoming release the studio is hosting a creative sweepstakes where the lucky winner will win an all expense paid trip for four to Los Angeles to see the premiere of The Boxtrolls. As someone who has attended movie premieres I an tell you that it’s a fabulous experience.

Most sweepstakes just have you enter your name and address, or a special code, to enter the sweeps. This sweepstakes is a lot more fun and creative.

To enter create your own Boxtroll. Check out the trailer (above) for inspiration.

Once you and your family have created your Boxtroll snap a picture of it and upload it on the #BuildABoxtrollsSweeps website. You are also encouraged to share your Boxtroll photo on your social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram…) using the official hashtag #BuildaBoxtrollSweeps.

I’m going to enter the contest. I have a couple of ideas in my head for a Boxtroll, but first I need a box that would make a great body for a troll.
