Great Gift Idea for Teachers

I have two teenagers who are both in high school. In fact my oldest graduates in June.

I miss the elementary school days. I was always the class parent so I was very involved in both my kid’s classrooms. I loved helping out with parties, reading to the class and chaperoning field trips.

There is one thing I DON’T miss about my kids being in elementary school and that is buying gifts for the teachers. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy giving gifts and the teachers always deserved something nice. The problem was trying to find something “different” to give them as a gift. There are so many mugs and trinkets with “teacher” written on them that a teacher can have. I always tried to find something that was unique and different and that they wouldn’t receive five or six of the same thing from others.

Gift cards are always nice. So are homemade gift baskets. At least that is what I was told by teachers in the past.

I have another great gift idea which not only benefits the teacher but also the other children in the classroom – a magazine subscription.

Cricket Media has 14 children’s magazines to choose from.

Not only do Cricket Media magazines help inspire teachers, they also help to promote the long love of reading and learning for students.

Cricket Magazine, once dubbed “the New Yorker for children,” turned 40 years old last year – and its print edition is still thriving. Its publisher, Cricket Media, has expanded its children’s media collection and now has more than a dozen other award winning children’s magazines for toddlers to teens focusing on Literature & Imagination, History & Culture, and Science & Ideas.

Cricket’s magazine collection is available both in print and digital subscriptions and can both be purchased as gifts. For subscription information, please visit CricketMag.com.

There are different magazines available based on the age of the child or children who’ll be enjoying it.

  • Ladybug (ages 3-6)
  • Ask (ages 6-9)
  • BabyBug (6 months – 3 years)
  • Muse (ages 9-14)
  • Cricket (ages 9-14)
  • Spider (ages 6-9)
  • Dig (ages 9-14)
  • Faces (ages 9-14)
  • Odyssy (ages 9-14)
  • Cicada (ages 14 )
  • Click (ages 3-6)
  • Appleseed (ages 6-9)
  • Cobblestone (ages 9-14)

Not only does a subscription make a great gift for teachers, it’s also a great gift for children too. They are educational and entertaining magazines that children of all ages can enjoy, from 6 months to 14 years old.

The magazines are available both in print or digitally. I like the idea of a digital delivery for the most part (saves trees) but for children I would think the printed version would be best (offer the digital version for older children with access to tablets).

If you would like to learn more about any of these wonderful magazines visit CricketMag.com.
