All’Ombra della Luna Nuova – written by Sara Albanese

I’ve always loved horses. When I was a child I had no certain idea that I would have purely “specialized” in English ride with the rigor that it’s characterized. The first thoughts about the horses, either through films or through the stories, arrived with the American Indians and their distinctive appaloosas horses with long manes, with the Old West, the dust, the railroad, the guns. A world where the ground was covered with plains with no end and where the horse was really protagonist and a life partner, as well as one of the few means of transport. That West of natives who represented an ideal because it was a frontier land where everything was yet to be discovered, to be built, where the law still had not arrived, and where everyoney could be free. As long as the white man made it the prototype of conquest, meter by meter, by willpower and by weapons.
One of the most compelling stories ever of the history, on which my dear friend Sara Albanese (yes, she’s the founder of Horseason!) grown her new novel “All’Ombra della Luna Nuova“: Ann the protagonist, is a young American teacher, who comes in contact with the Indian Reserve of Cheyenne Falls and with the little Waquini, son of the Medicine Man of the tribe. From here starts a deep story that not only tells about the culture of American Natives from very close, but most tells of the inevitable clash between evolution and old traditions, the fear of the new, the desire to have faith in people and the curiosity towards the difference.
An unmissable lecture for all the lovers of the Old Wild West, available in these bookstores in Italy and online here.
Thanks darling for my personal dedication, I can’t wait to read the book. Best wishes for this new adventure!
