New Day, New Do

Treated myself to a few hours away from the house this weekend with a desperately needed hair appointment. Decided to just chop it and go for a new look. Channeling Uma Thurman from Pulp Fiction. I keep walking around the house stealing her dance moves. Hair worth dancing about?! To some Urge Overkill/Neil Diamond? Don't mind if I do. This is a movie that has stood up over time. I watched it the other day and was still into it, like when I was a highschooler watching it for the first time, having my mind blown. Reality Bites? Despite the Ethan Hawke hotness, that I am sad to report, is not as good as I made it out to be in my angsty teenage mind.

On my way to the hair appt, I stumbled across Olives and Grace, right around the corner from my hair salon (Mop, FYI, a fabulous spot). What a total delight. Like the kind of well edited store full of small batch food, drink, and made items that all the cool kids know about, except now you get to be in the 'know' first. The owner, Sofi, is an instant friend. Full of energy and the kind of warmth you don't usually find in cold New England (is it me, or do we all turn into our grumpy alter-ego during the winter months?). Stop in often, because things change and roll through quickly.

Sunday, we headed in to Local Love at the BCAE, where I ate donuts on donuts, finally getting my fill of Union Square Maple Bacon. I had another one this morning. I am a donut hoarder. So many awesome vendors. Bought a Valentine for the Mr., from posh prep, resisted some brass dog book ends from Pop & Circumstance, and finally met Becca of Petal Floral. BTW, Sofi, Becca and more awesome vendors are having a Valentine's pop up at Olives and Grace this Friday, so be sure to stop in and get your flowers (or better yet, pre-order!). Ahem, Mr. MPCC, make this happen.

I almost forgot it was winter with all this fun. Almost.
