Mini-Skirt Matters

It's the first week of fall, yippee! I'm ready for all my fall fashion.....well, maybe when it isn't 100% humidity in the north east. Though, I may have just the perfect pair of culottes at the ready for this kind of transitional temperature/warfare.

I'm excited for a weekend away in NYC (this weekend, eeeeeek), but also kind of nervous to leave babe behind. Equal parts beyond ready for some time away, and gee, maybe a chance to read a book or something, and likewise quaking with fear. Might be just what the doctor ordered for everyone when all is said and done. That's what I keep telling myself, anyways.

Another thing that has me quaking in my boots- I signed up for my first half marathon! It's now or never with the last five baby pounds and this ought to be the tipping point right? I went for my first 6 mile run in ages yesterday and well, let's just say I am hurting as I type. I have two months to get half marathon ready. Lawd have mercy.

Last but not least, we had little D's first birthday party this weekend! It was filled with great friends, neighbors, crepes, cake, and family, celebrating this little wonder of ours (peep some pics on Instagram). All my lofty goals of taking beautiful shots throughout the day were cast aside with last minute prep and chatting with guests, aka, living in the moment. Sometimes it's more important to set the camera or social media aside and just experience the day, right?

Oh and random tip of the day, cami's from Costco are kind of awesome. Variety of colors at just 7.99 for two. They have lasted me from maternity to post with ease. I buy two more every time I go. Wearing one under this sheer top for good measure.
