White House Easter Egg Roll

My trip to The White House was so magical. I can't even express how thankful I am for this once in a lifetime experience. While we mingled with other Easter Egg Rollers, I realized that I was surrounded by so many people that had huge stories to tell. I was so moved by a former armed services member who talked about how being on the grounds validated his sacrifices for our country. It's a grand and overwhelming feeling being so close to the White House. Our family will cherish this experience always.

Waiting in line to enter.

We were so close we could see the patterns on the curtains inside the White House.
We started right away with the egg roll. Each group gets 2 hours to spend at the White House. So, every minute was scheduled. There are so many things to do I wanted to make sure we did this first.

READY-SET- GO!
Davis planned his egg toss well and took first place! It took him 2 tosses.
Gwen won for the cutest participant. She tried really hard to roll the egg carefully.
Then the egg cracked.
She didn't know what to do when her egg cracked. Sad little face!

The south lawn was filled with characters for the kids. Gwen couldn't resist getting a picture with Dora.

Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) hosted the Kids' Kitchen. She made her famous guacamole.

Hula hooping at the White House! This was such a party.

My favorite part of the 2 hours was when I took my heels off and danced with the kids. Then we ran up and down the lawn. The sun was out and we couldn't have asked for a better day.

The Wanted performed 5 songs for us including their hit, "Glad You Came".

We love making memories together as a family. This was one we will never forget.
Dennis, we really missed you today. Thanks for working so hard. Stay tuned for D.C. part 2
