One Stroke Forward, Two Strokes Back

Don’t you just want to scream when you’ve been working so hard to make something work and then Poof! The unplanned happens and all falls to pieces?

Well, my son’s one-on-one special needs swimming lessons were going so well and then the instructor was forced to take time off because her child is unwell. I totally understand and I pray that her child gets better soon.

The instructor has been great with Curly who’s been swimming really well, diving on his own to get the toy from the pool floor and trying his best at swimming without aid, but not quite Aquaman yet.

We’ve started with a new instructor but Curly is yet to trust her. He’ll get there soon, we hope. He has to, because in life people come and people go. He has to learn to get used to new people and new things without chucking a fit.

However, you can’t but first feel that you took one stroke forward and two back… especially when he had worked really well and was feeling so proud of himself. Now he needs to repair that confidence.

Push on, Curly! and well done, son!
