Craft Room & Office Makeover Progress + Upcoming Events

I feel like I’ve been pretty quiet lately and haven’t shared many pretty crafts or decorating projects with you lately.

Which just goes to show how different blog life can be from real life — because I have been busy!

Sampling, painting, prepping, purging, organizing and scheming.

The plan has been in the works for months, but now I’m finally making over my ho-hum home office and craft room. Bringing in more color and more girly. Less clutter. (And a cleaner computer screen — my goodness!)

Pretty fabrics.

New furniture to keep my supplies handy and more organized.

New paint on the walls.

Just a subtle change from pale khaki to pale gray.

New lighting. I told you it was going to be girly!

Another new paint job for my tried-and-true armoire, which seems to get a new look every time I decide to clean up my office!

Pretty office supplies courtesy of the Dollar Spot at Target.

I am still probably weeks away from showing you the after photos, but the room is getting there, slowly but surely.

The biggest jobs — painting and organizing all my craft supplies — are done.

But there’s still lots more left to do:

  1. Hang the chandelier — fingers crossed that it fits, but that’s a story for another day.
  2. Find a crafting desk.
  3. Reupholster my desk chair.
  4. Paint and reupholster a guest chair.
  5. Make a bulletin board.
  6. Build some ribbon storage.
  7. Hang artwork.
  8. Cover some storage boxes with fabric.
  9. Make a window treatment (Actually, my friend Suzy at Worthing Court is going to help me with that!)
  10. Do a fun treatment on the back of the bookcases.

I’m sure my to-do list will grow, but for now we’ll leave it at 10. A nice round number.

It would be 11, but I’m heading off RIGHT NOW to vacuum all the junk that winds up on the floor in the midst of a makeover.

Before I leave to do my chores, I wanted to tell you about some upcoming events here at Atta Girl Says.

Join my cohosts and me tomorrow at 8 p.m. EST for this month’s Dollar Store Challenge. This month’s theme is Dollar Store Desserts, so be sure to stop by to link up your recipe using mostly dollar store ingredients. (I’ll be cooking mine in just a bit, but don’t worry, I haven’t fallen off the diet bandwagon yet. I’m making my dessert for my son and some guests to enjoy.)

Next week, I will be participating in The Scoop’s Mega Spring Linky Party. Please be sure to stop by, beginning on Thursday, March 3, to share your spring decorating and craft projects. More than 30 blogs will be participating, so when you link up here, your projects will automatically appear on all those sites, as well.

Join me at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 9, for another No-Sew Showcase, featuring five other bloggers. This month, we’ll be sharing no-sew ideas for fluffing your nest for spring.

From March 17-March 21, It’s Swing Into Spring with All Things Home — a full week of spring-themed link parties. I’m honored to be cohosting the Spring Recipes link party with my friends Marty of Marty’s Musings and Kelly of My Soulful Home. You’ll also have the chance to share your Spring and Easter vignettes, porches and wreaths, mantels and crafts. There will be five separate link parties — a new theme each day. Stay tuned for more details.
