Sponsored: Calendar Countdown Craft

This project post is a part of a paid marketing campaign with Snap. Although this post is sponsored the project idea and all opinions expressed are my own. Read my full disclosure policy here.

I am literally counting the days until the Snap! Conference, when I fly out to Utah to meet some of my blogging friends and learn more about the business of blogging.

American Crafts sent me some samples of some of the Amy Tangerine Plus One paper craft collection that will be on sale on HSN on Monday, March 24.

The Plus One collection from American Crafts was the top-selling signature line released in winter 2014, and it is sold out in most stores and online.

When I got the scrapbooking paper, embellishments, sticker sand other Amy Tangerine goodies in the mail, I knew I wanted to make a Snap! calendar countdown to mark off the days until the conference.

American Crafts sent me a little bit of everything: paper, brads, miniature clothes pins, stickers, a paper embroidery kit, a date stamp, buttons and washi tape.

It’s similar to the discounted bundles that will be available on HSN.

Each bundle includes a basic kit, an embroidery kit, an embellishment kit and a stamping kit, all for just under $20. (The sold-out Plus One Project Life Mini Kit will also be available at a discounted rate.)

To make my countdown calendar, I started with a square Ikea Ribba shadowbox frame — the $10 size. I removed the glass and matte from the frame, then I started playing with my papercrafting goodies.

I started out by cutting a piece of scrapbook paper to fit the fiberboard backing of the frame, and I secured it with scrapbook adhesive.

I’ve never sewn paper before. But I loved using the Amy Tangerine Plus One embroidery kit, which comes with stencils, a paper piercer, needle and thread, to spell out the word, “DAYS” for my shadowbox.

I used a label paper punch I already had to create the countdown tags, and then added numbered stickers from Amy Tangerine.

I used strong craft glued to attach colorful mini clothes pins to the backing board to hold the countdown tags.

Trust me, those pins not going anywhere!

The Amy Tangerine paper pack I received had lots of paper that was perfect for my travel-themed countdown.

The embellishments, from the rub-ons…

to the date stamp…

to the buttons, and brads and stickers and washi tape were perfect for my blogger-on-an-adventure theme! (And the vibrant color scheme works well with what I have planned for my office and craft room makeover.

After Snap! I may turn this calendar countdown into a shadowbox to commemorate my trip. Or I may use it to count down my next adventure.

I purposely used washi tape and repositionable scrapbook adhesive to attach the Snap! card to the shadowbox. So, I can easily change that out and use the card as part of a scrapbook layout.

If you have a special trip or event coming up (wedding, baby, reunion, anniversary, girls’ weekend, conference or whatever), why not make your own shadowbox calendar countdown? A kit like Amy Tangerine Plus One makes it easy.

Be sure to tune into HSN Monday to see the full Amy Tangerine Plus One offering:
