How To Make Your Own Stickers

I haven’t had this much fun with stickers since elementary school when I was decorating my Trapper Keeper with Michael Jackson puffy stickers. (I can’t believe I just confessed to that!)
But these homemade stickers are so much prettier, and you won’t be embarrassed to decorate with them.
I used my Silhouette Cameo die-cutting machine and printable sticker paper and foil to create a bunch of stickers. I’m using them to dress up plain vases and jars for spring, plus I made some to use on handmade greeting cards and gifts.

Now, let me show you how to make your own stickers.
I’ve used the print-and-cut feature in my Silhouette designer edition software many times, like when I made Jackson’s Lego birthday invitations. But this was my first time making stickers.
It couldn’t be easier.
Just lay out your design in your Silhouette software, then print it out on sticker paper using an inkjet printer. (Be sure to print registration marks so the Silhouette will know where to cut in the next step. You may also want to add an offset around your stickers. Inspired Nest has a great tutorial on how to do that.)
Once you’ve printed out your sticker sheet, attach it face side up to your cutting mat and run that through your Silhouette machine. Be sure to adjust the blade and other settings within your software to match the kind of specialty media you’re using.

I layered three fabric swatches inside an Ikea Ribba shadowbox frame and popped a sticker on top. Instant artwork! Gotta love those Ikea frames for shadowbox projects.
I’m hooked on making stickers, and I’m excited about the decorating and crafting potential.
But before I can make any more for myself, I have to make some Star Wars stickers for a very special little boy.
