If you love the faux fur trend, then you may love this project. Adding a little faux fur to your fall/winter boots may just be the right trick to create a new look. My kiddos, have plenty of fall boots, so I decided to add a little fur trim to them. With only a few materials and no-sewing required, you can make your own removable faux fur lining for your kid’s winter boots or even high tops.
Now, I feel like I want to faux fur anything I get my hands on. I may even have a few other upcoming faux fur projects to share with you.
What you will need:
– Faux Fur ( I purchased mine at JoAnn’s for about $3 a quater of a yard)
– Thin Elastic
– Glue Gun, Glue Sticks and Scissors
Tip: Make sure you tell the associate who will be cutting your fabric, to CUT AGAINST THE BACKING of the FUR by pushing the scissors upward the backing and inserting the scissor as much close to the backing of the fur). This way, the fur will fray much less.
To add the faux fur lining to the boot or high tops: Fold over the fur into the rim of the boot halfway. Insert one of the outer pieces of elastic into the second shoe lace hole. Tie both elastic ends to secure. Cut excess elastic ends. Repeat the same steps for the other side of the fur.
