Would you believe me if I told you these photos are taken just a few blocks from my little apartment? One of my favorite aspects of Atlanta is the lush green forestation that makes you feel like you're in the middle of the wilderness even when you're in Midtown. This little spot is part of a nature preserve. The paths have nearly been overgrown, even with heavy use, by thick vegetation of the most wonderful variety! I usually take the trails winding through the forest, but on this particular day, I needed some extra Vitamin D and a bit of sand between my toes. I kicked off my underused tennis shoes and waded knee deep in cool, refreshing water. It was absolute heaven and as the summer days keep warming up, I have a feeling I'll be wading in our urban river more often!
