Cult Mountain presents: Jylle Navarro X My Bad Sister
Not many of London Fashion Week's shows have compères that urge the audience to call them "an old cunt" or models that sing about debouched nights and drug gussets; but then again, Jylle Navarro isn't your regular kind of Fashion Week designer.
Staying well clear of the commercial cobbles of Somerset House, London based knitwear designer Navarro decided to bring her A/W 2013 collection to life at Brick Lane's latest artist emporium, Cult Mountain. And instead of inviting the trout pouts of Naomi/Kate/Lily et al to model the collection, she got the girls from dirty duo My Bad Sister to show off the pieces whilst they sang about 'shopping at Asda' and 'shotting sambuca'!
The collection certainly required the audience to turn their eyes to 'stunned', with space-face-acid-trip-neon yarn having been knitted into skirts, hats, pom pom bras, arm warmers, dresses and crop tops. All looked suitably at home in amongst the opulent, bat-shit-mad surroundings of Cult Mountain's indie treasure trove with owner Britt Foe looking the part in a bright purple turban, orange barnet and bindi combo!
The space opened last month and aims to promote and support emerging talent in all artistic fields. Some of the labels on offer to slap you around the chops with their creative genius are Lady Gonzalez, Violeta Galera, Heroin Skateboards and Ed Chickentits to name just a few.
If you haven't been down to Cult Mountain yet, do it super quick with your pay cheque in hand. I guarantee you won't be able to leave without a knitted gimp mask or cock emblazoned cushion at the very least....
