What’s up April?

These years have been flying by – like light speed. Before we know it, we’ll be ringing in another New Year, following 2016, where I’ll be celebrating my 30th Birthday. Let’s stick with the present moment. I just scared myself.

I might not blog as much these days. I find it much easier microblogging1 and snapping pictures2, but it is nice to have a blog to fall back on during those times. Sometimes, it does my head in

As a matter of fact, since I’ve joined the Smartphone bandwagon, it’s very rare that I carry my camera around. It’s much easier grabbing my iPhone 53 than lugging my huge Nikon4 around my neck. I think that the last time I used that thing was on Christmas! Another funny thing? Since getting my iPad for Christmas, it’s cut into the amount of time that I spend on my Macbook Pro. Geeze. My life has revolved around convenience, and obvious laziness.

Over this past week or so, my life has come to a halt. Most of the month of April will probably be pretty low-key and slow at work during the transition. We’re starting over and need to re-train – even on things that we may already know. This week5 all associates6 have off. This entire process has been extremely annoying, and I cannot wait until everything is back to normal again. Let me tell you, the way that management is handling this is extremely unprofessional and you can tell that they have procrastinated when it comes to the preparation. Every time I check my email, it’s always regarding something that’s changed, as regards to training locations. One day it’s here, next day it’s there. One day it’s at this time, next day, it’s that time. The updates don’t come in until 7pm, so it’s always last minute, therefore, you can’t necessarily jot it down on your calendar without having to eventually erase or edit something. Not impressed.

I’m off, but I’m not off. On top of the stress with the transition, I haven’t exactly been out of the woods. I’ve been having money issues, so these lack of hours haven’t necessarily helped contribute to my situation. My tax refund is gone, since I put it all towards clearing debts that occurred during my unemployment. I have overdue bills that cannot be paid until I’m paid. It’s always the same cycle over and over each month. Needless to say, I’ve been more stressed out than I probably should be. It’s really tough being an adult at times, especially when most of us are stuck living paycheck-to-paycheck. It makes you question, “What exactly do we work for?”. On a regular basis, our paychecks are gone just as quickly as we receive them7. At the end of the day, my poor budgeting habits are also the blame for my situation. On the bright side, it’s something that can always be fixed and at least I do have an income and a job. Time will tell.

I conclude you with pictures from Leslie‘s visit about two weeks ago.
