Project Life 2014 | July 13-19

I love documenting my life with weekly Project Life spreads! At the end of each month, I batch edit and order the previous month’s photos and then work on spreads in batches. This week, I’m sharing a spread from mid-July.

July 13-19

I used the Yeats Studio Calico add-on for this spread. I got a bit out of my comfort zone by using more bits than I’m used to with the Crate Paper Notes & Things ephemera pack included in the kit.

Going on here: Me cleaning (happens less often than it should), Eliza’s awesome sense of style, Jonas & Paul’s adorable relationship, the tree-trunk planter my grandpa made for me, a blanket fort, friends over for dinner, our backyard in full summer jungle mode, kids snuggled up watching Doctor Who (Jonas fell asleep), Jake visiting the Boulevard Brewing Company with work, and Jonas playing with a friend.

Tip: Use rub-ons and white cards to create a patterned background.

Tip: Use a staple to attach a vellum or other clear embellishment.

Tip: Take the time to document relationships and not just events.

Tip: Use an embellishment at the meeting point in a collage to help visually separate the photos.

Going on here: A party with my family to celebrate my birthday. (I feel I should note that the hat was a present. I’m not wearing a winter hat in July for style.)

Tip: Add adhesive under the colored part of translucent embellishments to help hide it, as I did for the “smile” vellum die-cut, which I added to wood veneer.

Use: Layer tags, letter stickers, and die cuts for a title card. This is how I got around the lack of numbers in the sticker set!

Tip: Put a too-small-for-the-pocket journaling spot on a black white Project Life card.

Supplies: Studio Calico Project Life kit, Project Life journaling pens, Design A page protectors, Project Life corner rounder.

Let me know if you have any questions about these spreads or about pocket scrapping in general!
