Let’s Get a Little Bit Creative

Let’s Get a Little Bit Creative

This week, let’s take the time to be a LITTLE BIT creative.

Last week we talked about Creative Roadblocks, and I shared that one of the big things that stops me from being creative: time. I’ll bet you also have trouble with time. You might not have enough time to do all of the creative things you WANT to do, but everyone has the time to do SOMETHING.

This week, set up a little bit of time to be creative. Complete a tiny project, get something started, do some prep work, or just make a plan.

Don’t have free time? Give something else up. Go without television for a week, skip (gasp!) the dusting, or halve the time you spend on your favorite social media platform. Subtract a little bit from other areas of your life, and–voila!–you have added time for creativity.

I once wrote a whole novel manuscript in a month because I gave up one of my favorite free time activities: reading. Even giving up a little bit of something and spending a little bit of time being creative every day can lead to something big. But we’re not focusing on that big thing yet or even everyday creativity: this week, just clear a little bit of time to get a little bit creative.

Last week, my little bit of extra creative time went to reorganizing my bookshelves. This week, I’m going to pick out supplies for a few memory keeping projects and I’m going to sketch out my plans for the next installment 52 Projects.

Leave a comment and share your little creative plans and use the hashtag #NerdNestJumpstart on social media so I can find you!
