DIY Cat Tent Bed

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Fresh Step Lightweight Extreme Litter for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don’t know about your pets, but our cats love boxes! Like, LOVE them, cannot get enough of them! Last week, I was trying out this new lightweight litter from Fresh Step®, and I knew I couldn’t let that empty box go to waste. I recycled it, an old t-shirt, and a few wire coat hangers into a DIY cat tent, and our kitties absolutely love it!

Fresh Step® asked me to try out their new lightweight litter, and since our kitties already love that brand of litter, I figured it couldn’t hurt to give it a try. The lightweight litter is 30% lighter, but still provides the same great odor control, absorption, and clumping effects as the regular litter. So I’m excited that dealing with cat litter all the way down in the basement is going to be less of a hassle!

We went to Target to buy the litter, and they had the boxes of litter all set out on an endcap, and there was a $3 off coupon right on the box, score!

We also picked up some Red Vines, because, really, who can resist?! We’ve only been using the litter for a few days, but the kitties seem to like it. I’ll post a more detailed review next week after we’ve been using it longer. For now, I’ll share how I recycled the box into this awesome DIY cat tent!

Here’s what you need to make your own cat tent:

  • an empty box (I used the box from the Fresh Step® Lightweight Extreme Litter, which is available at Target)
  • two metal coat hangers
  • an old t-shirt
  • hot glue
  • X-acto knife
  • wire cutters
  • floral wire
  • pliers to bend the coat hangers
