Review of the NEW Nailbox Trendbox: SS’14 Curated by All Lacquered Up!

Good morning! I have something new and exciting to show you (and it takes a lot to get me excited!) Nailbox.co just launched a new seasonal subscription box called TrendBox. The contents of each quarterly box are hand-selected by a top nail blogger or trendsetter and include high-end, full-size polishes in the season’s hottest colors. The flagship box was curated by none other than Michelle Mismas of All Lacquered Up…literally the mother of all nail blogs! She thoughtfully chose four great shades from some amazing brands – in colors that faithfully represent the season. I must confess; I fan-girled a bit when she asked me if I’d like to review it. So let’s get started…(nailbox image)

Michelle chose (L to R above) two bright, creamy cremes, LVX Roux and JINsoon Cool Blue; a light, glowy texture, NCLA Mint Condition Candy Coat; and a vibrant holo, FACE Stockholm Athena. You can read more about why she chose these colors here.

First up is LVX Roux, a punchy coral creme. I’ve sampled LVX on my digits, but never worn a whole mani and never featured the brand on the blog. I was so excited to get this on. I like this spicy take on coral. The formula was excellent and lived up to everything I’ve heard about the brand. This is two easy coats with G&G HK Girl topcoat.

Next is FACE Stockholm Athena, a strong holo silver. This Swedish brand is new-to-me. In addition to nail polish, treatments and tools, the line also carries a full range of makeup. The rainbow effect is sooooo intense, even in my lighting setup. Crazy. My swatch is two coats and no topcoat.

JINsoon Cool Blue…be still my heart. I have a shirt this exact shade and I’m told it’s “my color” at least once every single time I wear it. Cool Blue is just that…a bright, clean, beautiful blue. I had my reservations after the first coat, but it goes on bright and perfect with the second coat. I used G&G HK Girl topcoat here.

Last but not least, this is NCLA Mint Condition Candy Coat. I’m a huge fan of NCLA so I had high expectations for my first experience with their textured polish. The texture is very subtle and the shade is more lime than mint for sure. It has a nice glowy finish with a golden shimmer and I love the result. I used three coats for this swatch.

Michelle did such a fabulous job of picking the best of the best for the season…in colors, finishes, and brands. This box will be a tough act to follow!

About TrendBox

Each TrendBox contains at least 4 full-size nail products with a retail value of $65 or more. You can purchase boxes individually for $35 or an annual subscription for $105 (that’s a whole box FREE). The boxes are available online throughout the season so if you’re risk-averse (like me…LOL), you can wait until the box is released to see the polishes before you purchase. Either way, it’s a great deal. With JINSoon, NCLA, LVX and FACE Stockholm in the first box alone, I’m certain future boxes will be excellent! My only gripe was the packaging. While three of the four polishes came packaged in individual boxes, all four polishes were placed in a larger box with minimal packing. Having said that, everything arrived intact!

So what do you think? Will you be checking it out? I wonder who is curating the next box?!

The Nailbox SS’14 TrendBox curated by All Lacquered Up is available now at Nailbox.co for $35 with no additional commitment. Or buy a year subscription for $105…which means 4 boxes for the price of 3! Nailbox also sells the latest polishes and gift sets from premium brands with a 14-day return policy and free shipping for purchases over $45.
