LVX 2014 Fall Collection Swatches and Review

press samples

At Cosmoprof North America this past July, I got to meet Branka and Rade Tomic, the brother-sister team behind LVX. First of all…these two belong on the runway…just like their polish! I’m not kidding. LOL. But in addition to being ridiculously fabulous (lvx image at right), they’re also completely approachable with a great passion and eye for the business.

Like all LVX releases, the LVX 2014 Fall Collection (original press release here) “fuses fashion with nail color”. This set translates the Fall 2014 runway shows into six classy cremes. I love glitters, holos and funky finishes – but sometimes it’s nice to see a selection of sophisticated and refined shades that are great for the office, in addition to nights out. For each polish, I’ve included some of the looks that inspired the color from the LVX website.

Cerise is an intense fuchsia red. I like the coolness of this for Fall. It’s a different take on warm, autumn reds.

I’m crazy about this polish! The formula was excellent. This is two easy coats.

Oyster is a soft blue-gray…a really nice neutral option with a twist.

I love gray polish, so this is a winner for me. The formula was super smooth and it covered perfectly in two coats.

Peony is a feminine pink that leans a touch lavender. LVX dubs it a “transitional” shade that bridges the gap from Summer to Fall. It would look great with gray, I think!

This one seems springy to me, but the color is super pretty and the formula was perfect. I used two coats.

Espresso is a warm chocolate brown…a great alternative to black.

The polish has the slightest hint of grey to me. I love it. This is two easy coats.

Macaroon is a slightly peachy nude. I love the first look in the runway photos below. This shade is great paired with black.

It took three coats to get it all nice and even, but it got there. The result is really fresh and clean.

And last but not least, is Anthracite. It’s a deep, cool, charcoal gray.

The formula was smooth, but a little sheerer than the others. It took three coats for full coverage. I think this one is my favorite. I have an idea for some nail art using this and Cerise!

So I know I used the words “smooth” and “perfect” to describe the formula like 20 times in this post, but it’s the truth. These are great cremes and I know I’ll get a ton of use from these classy colors.

All LVX polishes are five-free and vegan. The LVX Fall 2014 Collection is available now. Polishes can be purchased at www.shoplvx.com for $16USD each. Be sure to follow LVX on Facebook and Twitter for news and promotions.
