Morgan Taylor Fall 2014 Enchantment Collection Swatches and Review

press samples

Hey there. Wow! A Saturday post. I have another Fall Collection to share, the 2014 Morgan Taylor Enchantment Collection. (I first talked about the collection here and you can read the original press release here.) Morgan Taylor is such a classy line. From the shape of the bottle to the colors to the advertising. This is actually the second time I’ve swatched this collection. When I swatched it the first time (well over a month ago), I hated my pictures. (It happens to all of us.) My hubs thought I was blind and crazy, but I insisted on doing them over. The good news is it gave me a chance to fall in love with these shades all over again. All of the polishes in this set have a magical-themed name and are surprisingly understated (which I love). All swatches were finished with Morgan Taylor Need for Speed Topcoat.

As usual, I’ll start with my favorite. I’m the Good Witch is officially described as a pink pewter glitter. I’m not sure where the pewter comes in, but I love it just the same. There’s a lot going on here. Like many Morgan Taylor glitters, it’s a complex mix of colors that come together to create a delicate shade. I used three thin coats.

Next up is Who-dini? a soft, dusty periwinkle creme. Morgan Taylor calls it “grey blue”. I love that it’s not traditional Fall. The gray undertone makes it wintery and not springy. This is two coats.

Simply Spellbound is a simple nude creme. These colors tend to be streaky at first, but Simply Spellbound went on smooth in two coats. This will be a staple for work for me.

I can’t rant about Now You See Me enough. It’s a chocolate brown microglitter. The glitters are so fine, in fact, that Morgan Taylor describes it as a shimmer. Beautiful. It was completely opaque in just two coats.

Here’s Hocus Pocus, a pretty and light mint creme that leans a little gray. The formula was a little fussy. I used a third coat to even everything out.

And last but not least is Magician’s Assistant. It’s hard to describe. It has a very slight lavender shimmer that gives the soft pink a purple hue in some light. It’s very soft. This is two coats.

Personally, I adore this collection. It’s great for the season and it looks so upscale.

The Enchantment Collection is on sale now. Morgan Taylor was previously only available to pros; but now anyone can buy them online from Loxa Beauty. Polishes retail for $8.50 each. Learn more at morgantaylorlacquer.com and follow Morgan Taylor on Facebook and Twitter for news and promotions.
