Lovely birthday memories

Often I’ll feel the urge to blog but the moment I start typing, I lose all desire to blog. Not sure why. Sometimes I wonder why bother putting things up on a public blog. This is how many entries remain as drafts or worse, unwritten.

Anyways I do wanna write about my birthday celebrations so before July ends, let’s get to it!

At the office
My work place celebrates everyone’s birthdays. We’re a small team after all. Usually I’m the one making the card, with the help of my colleagues. So when it comes to my birthday I always wonder who will be making my card and what it’ll be like.

This year I have a very lovely card and birthday theme. The theme was Birthday Beauty Box.

To give a bit of background, I subscribe to monthly beauty boxes by Bellabox and have them delivered to the office since no one’s home to receive them. For those not familiar with subscription boxes, each month you get a box filled with a number of popular beauty items. So far I’ve been loving my Bellaboxes and I sometimes show the contents to my colleagues.

So this year they decided to do a Birthday Beauty Box theme. Of course it means I got a beauty box filled to the brim with beauty products… which were all contributed by my colleagues!! Waa…

They also wrote individual birthday messages on paper cutouts of various beauty products.

I’m so touched by all the thought & care put into everything. Really. It’s nice to be on the receiving end once a year…

Surprises from Robby
This probably sounds really weird but while we were dating I don’t think Robby and I ever went on a proper date. We were either on long distance, or we were together in Europe, later in Singapore. Thing is when we were together, we were pretty much really together all the time. So he never had to plan for a date or something.

Anyway one day he told me he wants to take me on a date for my birthday and I got so excited. Even more when he didn’t wanna tell me what he had planned.

Apparently he had a number of surprises, starting with a thoughtfully written card he quietly placed on my desk on my birthday, a surprise kind of a joke present, and finally the surprise date that Saturday evening.

Where did he take me? To get a lovely pair of earrings (yeah I told him I’ll always treasure jewellery gifts over most other items.. And he’s been doing well so far. Hahaha…) and then to a buffet dinner at Holiday Inn at Orchard.

Ok so here are pictures of the buffet dinner.. Get ready to be amazed by how much we can eat! Hahaha.

And…. we polished off almost everything on our plates…. (and I wish I could still take more of those sweet, juicy prawns)! Pretty impressive? =p
