Turn It Up Tuesday 48

Welcome to the 48th week of Turn It Up Tuesday!

It is back to school week for the kids in town. Yesterday afternoon I mentioned to my husband that I had wanted to run to Walmart to pick up a copy of God’s Not Dead on Blu-ray to show our friends who were coming over that night, but I forgot. He thought that was a great idea and offered to run to the store while I finished tidying up the house. Neither one of us remembered that it was the night before school started and Walmart was a zoo! As usual, Walmart didn’t have enough registers open and he was the 11th person in line to use the self-checkout. Fortunately, he made it home unscathed and we all enjoyed a great movie. I hope your weekend was less harrowing than his!

Thanks so much to everyone that joins us each week and makes this blog hop the best that it could be!

As you may know, Turn It Up Tuesdays is all about being happy, excited, energetic…and having fun! Link up your favorite posts (old or new) and meet some awesome bloggers in return! Link up your funny stories, DIY posts, recipes, mommy moments — anything at all, as long as it is family-friendly. We want to laugh, be entertained, be inspired, and have a good time!

SPONSOR OF THE MONTH

Debbie from Heartbeats ~ Soul Stains

“Heartbeats Soul Stains is a place I’d like to share my thoughts and experiences on being a woman, wife, a mother of 7, friend and survivor of many different obstacles, challenges and tragedy.
I will share the good, the bad and the oh so ugly things that happen in a family our size. Life is hard for all of us, we all have those crosses to carry. Life is also very beautiful and precious and I am determined to never take the amazing blessing I have been given for granted.”

Stop by and check out her blog…it’s definitely a great read!

Here are the Featured posts from last week!

Elie chose 10 Hydrating Infused Water Recipes from Home.Made.Interest. “Not only do all these waters sound amazing, but they look pretty too! Being a fitness instructor, water is very important to me and I’m always looking for ways to jazz mine up. I will definitely be returning to this post for great ideas!”

April chose 8 Scriptures Every Mother Should Know from The Microwave Girl. “As a stay at home mommy, the whirlwind that is round the clock motherhood can get to the deepest parts of you. It’s important to remember who are children are and why they are here.”

Becky chose Chalk Painted Concrete from Woods of Bell Trees. “Her results were just stunning! I might consider doing this if we ever move to a home with a basement that needs its floor finished.”

Chelsea chose Frozen Golden Oreo Treats (Great After School Treat) from Domestic Mommyhood. “I absolutely LOVE Golden Oreos! This looked like the perfect Just-Because-I’m-a-Mom treat, forget the kids! Only thing I would change is to keep the Oreo filling! That’s the best part! But, I can’t wait to try these yummy snacks!”

Karen chose Praline Sauce from Yesterfood. “This recipe for Praline Sauce is so simple and would make an ideal gift. Something to think about for this Christmas!”

Ce Ce chose Back to School Teacher Interview from Home.Made.Interest. “Love this because my son is starting kindergarten in September, and I need plenty of tips for a great school year!”

Katy chose 7ish Things You Should Know About Twins from Mommie and Wee. “As a mama to twins myself, I can relate to several of these! As a tall woman who loves her milk, I guess I set myself up for the crazy. In all seriousness, I get asked a lot of questions about my twins because they are such polar opposites. Not only do they look absolutely nothing alike, but their personalities and strengths are completely different. And it looks like one of my little men is going to be a lefty! It’s always nice to connect with other twin mamas, because there is nothing quite like having two little ones running about. It really takes one to know one. “

Victoria chose Selfish Mom Moments from Working Mom Magic. “I chose Selfish Mom Moments because I can totally relate. As a mom of three small boys, I try to be as unselfish as possible. However, sometimes moms need some times to themselves.”

Stacey chose To the Cashier Who Called My Child Naughty from Organized Chaos. “I find it sad that, somewhere along the line we have lost the teachings to treat others as you would like to be treated! To cause a little one to question himself and whether or not he is “naughty” or not, just by making a thoughtless and uncaring comment is not acceptable. Thanks for sharing!”

Sandy chose Large Family Kitchen: Save Money & Time With Bulk Foods from Aspired Living. “I love to save money, especially on groceries. I am grateful for this reminder of how to save money when buying in bulk and how to save time by re-packaging those bulk items you purchase.”

Jillian chose How I Use Co-Schedule, Drag and Drop Editorial Calendar for WordPress from A Life in Balance. “I chose this post because it provides great tips on how to schedule blog posts and your social media, all in one spot.

Rachel chose The Ultimate Back to School Guide from The Coconut Head’s Survival Guide. “I chose this post because it is one of the most thorogh lists I have seen for school shopping, organizing and preparing. So many great ideas!”

Rachel also chose Pull-Apart Cinnamon Loaf from Memories by the Mile. “I chose this post because because it looks so delicious! I love this as a beautiful alternative to cinnamon rolls and I can make it the night before for a wonderful breakfast treat.”

Kimberly chose 5 Back to School Concerns for Parents from Pastries, Pumps, and Pi. “This post raises awareness about peer pressure and bullying in school which are far more critical these days than they once were. Tameka also shares why parents should provide a short break for kids after arriving home from school.”

Kimberly chose Award Show Party Ideas from About A Mom. “This post had me at ‘Award Show’. The unique ideas for hosting an at-home Award show party are awesome. The movie theater butter popcorn cupcakes are so aesthetically appealing.

Jessica chose 7 Reasons Why I Don’t Blog. from Mommie and Wee. “I love her take on why she blogs. I think this is why we all started to blog too – to share our life in our little corner of the webosphere :).”

This post also received the most clicks.

Tara chose Free Back to School Lunch Note Printables from Spaceships and Laser Beams.

Tara also chose {Free Printable} First Day of School Photo Pro from My Paper Craze.

Kelly chose White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle No Bake Cheesecake | Delicious Recipe from A Dash of Sanity. “It looked delicious and I love impressive looking desserts that come together quickly.”

Kelly chose Save Money Now! from The Wondering Brain. “I chose this post because it is for anyone wanting to save money. It is a simple tip, that is really easy to do. Plus, if you follow the tip through, it really adds up by the time you are done.”

Natasha chose When Sleep Goes Awry from Just A Touch of Crazy. “Great post…and so true! I don’t know the last time that I had a full, uninterrupted sleep – probably right before I found out I was pregnant lol. If my son sleeps in his bed, it’s not all night – he ends up in my bed at some point. Which means I wake up and see him standing next to my bed. Or wake up because I’m kicked or slapped in the middle of the night. Or wake up because he’s snoring next to me. Either way, I don’t sleep. And I’ve somewhat gotten used to it.”

Natasha also chose 5 Creative Lunchbox Ideas from A Mom’s Take. “With my son only being 3, I have to be ever so creative with his lunchbox options. He just likes what he likes, and unless I am relatively creative, he probably won’t try it. Thanks for sharing some great creative lunchbox ideas!”

The second post with the most clicks is The Apology Tour from Normal Everyday Life.
