Bohemian Shoot – Katie Weiner Jewellery

Wow wow wow and wow is all I can say about this shoot.. The moment I saw these stunning designs and beautiful shots on Instagram we just had to feature… Thanks so much to Jo from Horseshoe Photography for letting us feature!! Katie Weiner is an established designer maker who has been working in silver, gold and semi precious stones since 1994.

Over to Katie and Jo to tell us more….

The shoot was to showcase Katie Weiner’s Jewellery. Her current designs are a mixture of vintage re-worked with a contemporary twist. Katie’s collection of vintage treasures are given a fresh bohemian edge when she revitalises them by mixing in an eclectic selection of old and new pieces,textures and colours – breathing new life in to treasured jewellery - each piece becoming truly unique.

We both wanted the shoot to have a bohemian feel to it, and the beautiful location is actually Katie’s home, which has a very similar style to her jewellery, and also beautiful light. The shoot was very simple, and we wanted to keep it as fuss free as possible. The make up artist that we were going to use on the day was actually ill, but luckily enough the model, Emily that I was using is so striking naturally, that we didn’t get another make-up artist in and left Emily to do the makeup herself – the styling was done by both Katie and myself.

It was so nice to work on such a fuss free shoot with such beautiful results. I was very lucky with the light at the end of the afternoon and took maximum advantage of it.

Katie’s work has recently featured in both Vogue and Red magazine.
