5 Humpday Happy Hour Links

Here's a link dump to get you over that late-afternoon humpday slump. Our news roundup today involves everything from a rogue prosthetic leg to female cage fighters to recipes that will help you win the Hunger Games IRL. 1. Real Housewife Loses Her Shit on RHONY Finale The Real Housewives of New York finale premiered last night on Bravo and the episode will knock your socks off. In what she describes as a "knee-jerk" reaction, housewife Aviva Drescher takes her prosthetic leg off and puts all her cards on the table. TOO MANY BAD PUN POSSIBILITIES. This is v serious though... (Extra)
2. Don't Trust a Pretty Cage Fighter If you have a minute for a long read today, check out this New Yorker profile of Ronda Rousey, one of the world's best female cage fighters. For the time/attention strapped, here's what we learned: the same way that you can't trust a skinny chef, Rousey says watch out for pretty fighters — it means they've left the ring without a scratch. (New Yorker)
3. People Have A Lot to Say About Preserve.us This week, Blake Lively launched her lifestyle website called "Preserve" and of course, the Internet has a lot of things to say about it. The Cut says it "looks like a promotional website for a horror movie in 2005," and provides us with some explanatory GIFs. Jezebel takes both sides though, listing a full love/hate news roundup. What do you think? 4. GOD SAVE THE KALE! According to Modern Farmer, the "great kale shortage is upon us." Demand has significantly exceeded supply and so farmers in Australia, where kale is predominantly harvested, are running out of seeds. While juice bars and health food stores cry tears of coconut water, get your kale fix instead with this Khai Khai necklace. (Modern Farmer) 5. "Recipes" for a "Bread Salad" from a "Food Blog" Everyone's all like OoOoOo summer salad, summer fruit, summer vegetables! But screw that. If you're hungry during happy hour, LEAVE KALE ALONE and grab some grains instead. I just learned about this genius thing called a "bread salad" and it is now a staple of my non-diet diet. Food & Wine has some "recipes" in case you can't grasp the concept. (Food & Wine)
