Sarah Palin Wants In…Your Living Room

Sometimes I find myself wishing Rebecca Black wrote a song about Mondays. Do you know who wasn't in the news this weekend? Rebecca Black. But these people were! Here are five things to now help get "Friday" out of your head. 1. Bass Coast, Canada's EDM Festival, Bans Native American Headdresses Bass Coast will be banning headdresses out of respect for "the dignity of aboriginal people." It remains to be seen whether other festivals such as Coachella, Governors Ball, Electric Daisy and North West's (now annual?) Kidchella will follow suit. (The Guardian) 2. Blue Bodies Swarmed Times Square this Weekend iCal failed to mention that Saturday marked "NYC Body Painting Day," but I'll take that up with the Genius Bar later. Dozens of nude models in body paint swarmed Times Square this weekend, drawing reactions including but not limited to: "Art!" "Cool!" and "Ew, gross!" from the onlooking crowds. (Gothamist)
3. Feeling Clammy? Swig Some Charcoal! Just when I was opening up to the idea of swigging coconut oil, the wellness community hit me with another hype curveball. Apparently, scrubbing, swigging, and eating activated charcoal (which can be bought at your local health food store) reaps many benefits including detoxing effects, teeth whitening, and skin brightening. Break me off a piece o' dat, Santa. (Well and Good) 4. You Can Now Hang with Sarah Palin 24/7 for the Annual Fee of $99.95! Sarah Palin has a new TV network, and it's aptly named...drumroll please…The Sarah Palin Channel. The Web-TV channel promises that for the low cost of $99.95 a year, viewers can watch her "boldly take on any issue — those issues that the powers that be don't want to cover." That's apparently 96 cents more than a Netflix subscription, so what I want to know is: will she also be playing reruns of Orange is the New Black? (The Atlantic)
5. Clothes Horse (the app) Aims to Solve the Age-Old Question of "What Size am I?" After completing a quick survey, the app finds your "perfect fit in 20 seconds." Of course, sizes and fits vary by retailer, but Clothes Horse saves and stores your information as you browse various sites. The company claims it boosts sales by 8% and reduces returns by 9.5%. Now find a way to loop this in with my menstruation cycle and we have ourselves a deal. (FastCoDesign)
