Morning Routine for Blemished Skin

As I’ve got older my skin concerns have really shifted towards evening out my skin tone and preventing the signs of ageing. Thankfully I pretty much left acne behind with my teenage years and early 20′s but once a month my hormones rage and it leaves me with blemishes, mostly on my chin. These hormonal blemishes are different to regular breakouts in that they mostly stay beneath the skin and are pressured and painful. When it comes to spots the most important and effective treatment comes from knowing why you have the outbreak in the first place. Knowing that these spots only appear when I get that “gift” from mother nature makes it pretty clear but I normally only otherwise suffer if I haven’t been taking care of myself, not eating well or sleeping badly. Once you know why you have them you can treat them accordingly and for me, with the hormones being the trigger, my main concern is getting on with life and keeping the area smooth and clean so that I can apply makeup over the top without it being really obvious that there are spots underneath. It’s tempting to reach for harsh products that will strip your skin but I never have luck with these, I prefer to moisturise and keep everything smooth so that my skin can heal. I hope this routine is helpful to see!
