The other day, I thinking about how I should make a good Beer Cheese Soup for supper...and then I thought...hmmmm...that would make a good
Sloppy Joe...so, I married the two together and voila!
A Beer Cheese Sloppy Joe! If you love Beer Cheese Soup, you will love this recipe too. Dinner
mixed and matched. Enjoy!
This recipe serves 4 adults.
Shopping List 1 pound of ground beef 1 onion, chopped 1 tablespoon flour 1 cup beer (I used a Boston Lager but you use what you have on hand) 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded Chopped chives to garnish Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) Salt and Pepper Burger Buns
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown your ground beef in a tablespoon or so of EVOO. Once browned and crumbly, add in your chopped onion and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Saute about 4 minutes. Sprinkle your flour down over your meat and onion mixture and then slowly pour your beer in the pan. Reduce heat to low and stir the beef and flour together until it starts to thicken a bit (about 3 minutes). Add in your shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted (about 3 minutes).
Take your burger bun and top it with a scoop of sloppy joe mixture and then garnish with a little bit of chives.
That's it! The flavor of beer cheese soup but in
Sloppy Joe form!
Enjoy!
