Photodiary: Cockatoo Island, Sydney

Cockatoo Island is a heritage-listed island in Sydney Harbour, approximately 20mins by ferry from Circular Quay. It is essentially a well preserved floating museum showcasing early Australian history (it was used as a ship building dockyard, a convict prison, an Industrial School for girls, and a quarry).

These days it’s become a popular cultural space, hosting events such as the Sydney Biennale, music festivals, comedy festivals; and is a playground for photographers. We followed a group of photographers (via meetup.com) to explore the island and take in the beautiful late afternoon light. Here are some of my snaps.
