Long Vowel June

I’ve never really learned short vs. long vowels until recently. In the past, when teaching Phonics in Seedbed 2, we just taught them to sound out various words and patterns. We never told them the actual rules (ie – the long vowel says its name). With the phonics book I’m using now at Poly, we go through the rules on a weekly basis. This means I have to look up my own resources… which led me to finding gems such as:

Yup. That’s my life nowadays. I feel like the elementary program is a constant repeat of intensives. On some days, I feel like I’m ready for the world, on others, I just want to crawl in the corner and shove my face with potato chips.

I continue to miss Daejeon on daily basis. I do love my kindy kids but something is still missing. I can’t decide if I miss life in Daejeon, if I miss the April curriculum, or if I miss Daejeon April. It’s a hard one and I struggle with trying to love my current job as much as I loved April. Nonetheless, I feel like this year is a good chance for me to make some serious cash and take a break from April. But I have a feeling I’ll be back soon enough. I miss making my award-winning CTP videos hahaha.
