Linus BBQ

Location: Itaewon (이태원)
How to Get There: Get off at Itaewon Subway Station (Exit 4) and walk straight down until you hit McDonald’s. To the left of McDonald’s is a staircase where you will see a sign for Linus BBQ. Walk down the stairs and walk ’til the end of the hallway. When you exit, you will be at Linus BBQ’s outdoor patio seating area.

Finally, some real southern BBQ in the R.O.K! I’ve heard about this new place in Itaewon for awhile, but only tried it recently when I was able to rally a few people to come with me. It’s located right in the heart of Itaewon, next to McDonald’s and across the street from Vatos. The restaurant itself is small and extends into a patio dining area. Combined with the oldies playing in the background, this place seriously took me back to America for a minute.

My friends and I ordered as much food as possible in order have a taste of everything. We ordered a pulled pork/brisket platter, fried pickles, fried okra, and fried mac&cheese balls. Another intriguing menu item was the “deep fried rib.” Unfortunately, we already had so much food.

My favorite menu of the night was the brisket. I’m a big roasted meat kind of person so the consistency of brisket is right up my alley. The platter came with slider buns and I think the intention was to make your own slider sandwich. Forget that! I ate that that piece of brisket by swiping it in some mashed potatoes & gravy and took a bite of cole slaw on the side. Straight up like a Thanksgiving meal. The bacon potato salad was fantastic as well. My favorite side order of the night was the fried pickle spears. The okra & fried mac&cheese balls were superb as well. I guess I would describe this place as real American BBQ, but with Korean portions. But hey, it’s tough out here. I’m just grateful that this kind of goodness is available to meat lovers like myself.

Here’s a shot of all the glorious food:

Thank you Linus BBQ for a great meal & god bless you for bringing this goodness to Seoul.
