Rain Day

My usual Friday would have consisted of rushing to a 8 am lecture and then right after going to work in the heart of downtown, the core. But with Calgary flooding in downtown and many surrounding areas all schools (including CBE, catholic, SAIT, University of Calgary, and CDI) and most downtown establishments are closed. Early this morning I was informed Holt Renfrew Calgary will be closed for business today, as well as the Core as YYC floods reach a never before seen high. Power outages force this decision as well as restricted access to the core, where dumpsters were seen floating down the roads this morning! Status over tomorrow's opening of The Core is still unsure, as Mayor Nenshi says that the worst yet to come. In this time of hardship for many, as increasing amounts of communities are evacuated, my heart goes out to all affected and my positive energy.
