retro party, really flat run, and 2 or more donuts {weekend recap}

Greetings! How was your weekend? Ours was busy, but fun! On Friday, we headed to New Orleans to go back in time.

My company’s holiday party was disco/studio 54-themed. Anthony and I looked pretty retro, but some of my coworkers took the costumes to a whole other level! Fun night.

The next morning we were out for a run.

It was so warm and so flat. I’m considering moving to NOLA just so I never have to wear mittens or run up a hill again.
We did a ten-mile loop I found on MapMyRun. By the way, when did MapMyRun get bought out by UnderArmour? And is anyone else obsessed with the I Will What I Want Campaign? I just got the app and think it’s pretty cool.

Anyways, back to the run. We headed Southeast out of the city, around Audobon Park, and back.

It was super sunny, so the shady park was definitely my favorite part. Not sure how this is considered “winter” but I’m on board with it.
Also, JK about the no-hills thing. New Orleans has some pretty crazy sidewalk mountains. The trees are taking over.
We took it nice and slow since we were just out to explore the city. Done and done!
Flash forward through a big burger:
and big salad:
and a short flight. As soon as we arrived back in Nashville, we headed to to party #2!
Leah and Jesse’s wedding was beautiful. The space was decked out in old books (both of them are big readers!), pretty flowers, and happy people.
I loved the menu. Nothing says romance more than big slices of pizza.
Actually, there might be one thing. And that thing is donuts. And Jesse and Leah had those instead of cake! Best idea ever. I know the sign said to only take one…. oops.
Anthony and I stopped for one photo during our hour-long dancing spree.
The night ended with a sparkler sendoff. Congrats, Leah and Jesse!
What a weekend. How was yours?

  • Where would you rather run: in a 100-degree desert or on a 5,000-ft mountain?
  • Cake or donuts?!
