NoteBook: Victoria Mann Millinery

I was making some more coffee this morning (Monday morning = 3 cups minimum) when the post arrived. Among the usual bank statements, leaflets and the post for the people who used to live here, lay a rather attractive, handwritten envelope. A wedding invitation! And the fourth one this year. I really love wedding stationery, it is such an art form these days and if you visit Pinterest and search for wedding stationery, you'll find the most wonderful assortment of beautifully photographed and styled wedding stationery. I also love all the little enclosures: maps, rsvp cards, additional information, gift list info etc etc, it's all so well organised.
Anyway after my initial "ohhhhh! so exciting!" moment, I immediately started thinking about dresses, shoes, and hats, how can I get the hat in one piece to France etc. And then I remembered that late last year, I had bookmarked a website for a really lovely milliner called Victoria Mann Millinery. Why? Because 2012 is the year I get organised and don't leave things to the absolute last possible minute.
Victoria, who is based in SW London, designs and makes bespoke hats, headpieces, fascinators and hair accessories. She started off designing pieces for friends and family and this has grown organically into the business she runs today. One of her original designs was even worn at the Royal Wedding in 2011 which is a wonderful testament to her amazing talent.
So, if like me you're already starting to think about your outfits for those special 2012 events then do take a look at Victoria's lovely portfolio on her website. VMM specialises in customising headpieces to each individual's requirements, so you can work with Victoria to develop a new headpiece from scratch, or customise existing designs. The other rather exciting thing is that Victoria is running a competition at the moment and the winner will receive a £150 bespoke headpiece. The details are below so do take a look and enter for your chance to win.

Win a bespoke VMM headpiece worth £150
For your chance to win a bespoke VMM headpiece worth £150, simply "LIKE" the Victoria Mann Millinery page on Facebook or share/comment on the page to let your friends know too.
Please note the following terms:
  • If you already 'like' the Facebook page, you will be automatically entered in the competition.
  • The competition will finish at the end of April, and the winner will be notified through Facebook.
  • The hat will be up to the value of £150, but if you are the lucky winner, you can obviously pay the difference to increase the value of the piece.
  • As the headpiece is bespoke, Victoria will work closely with the prize winner throughout the design process to create a completely bespoke headpiece of their choosing.

So good luck to you all! I am off to post my RSVP and walk AlfiePug. Have a great day!
Louisa
