STREET SMARTS :: TRANSITION TO FALL

Waking up to cloudy skies this morning, it seems like mother nature is right on schedule with fall this year. On the other hand… it’s supposed to get back up to 80 this weekend. Which means we’re officially in that weird transitional phase in fashion where you’re ready to pull out the sweaters, but not quite ready to put away the summer dresses…

So I spent a little time this morning dreaming of ways to have the best of both worlds! My favorite summer pieces this year were sheer and white… and here’s how I’m keeping them in the mix well into fall. Throwing them over (and under if it’s cold enough) lots of black seems like a good first step…

I’m dying to add a hat like this one to my collection for fall, so I love that I’ve seen so many gals already wearing them well before the cold weather has set in. Pair it fearlessly with a lacy white frock.

Take that sheer skirt (or any skirt) up a notch with a bomber jacket and boots for a perfect seasonal crossover.

Nothing says fall like a flannel! I love the way this one looks paired with a super delicate summer cami.

I knew there was a reason I loved September so much! What pieces from your wardrobe are you hoping to get the most out of as we move into fall?
