5 WAYS TO AMP UP YOUR SQUATS FOR SEXY, TONED LEGS

Sleek, sexy sculpted legs are essential for those tiny shorts and itty bitty bikinis that are ubiquitous now that summer is finally here! You’ve done all your cardio to prepare for the season and now it’s time to amp up those sexy gams with some toning exercises to give more definition that will have everybody staring at you walk by!

All you need to know is one secret: squats!

But not just any squat. Squats are a staple exercise for summertime because they really work every muscle group in your legs, especially those quads, hamstrings and calves.

Here are some variations to the classic squat that you can introduce to your routine to get all those sculpting lines that you crave!

• Squatting with your feet close together as opposed to having your knees and ankles shoulder-width apart like in a classic wide-stance squat really helps better target your quads and inner thighs.
• Holding the position of your squat isometrically, whether your feet are close together or farther apart, really helps challenge your muscles and build endurance, which equals more definition. Try holding a squat for 60 secs to begin with and if you really want a challenge, hold a squat while you brush your teeth in the morning to really feel the burn!
• Incorporating upper body while you do your squats is doing double duty. Grab a pair of hand weights and do biceps or triceps curls while you go into your squats, or if you really want a challenge, hold your arms straight above you while you bust them out.
• Jump squats are super fun and amazing if you want to incorporate some extra cardio into your toning up routine.
• Single leg squats are very advanced, but if you’re up for the challenge hold one leg extended out in front of you along with your arms extending straight for balance and bust those babies out!
