What doesn't kill you...

What doesn't kill you either makes you stronger... or mutates you. Maybe after all this we can survive a zombie apocalypse?? Just sayin'.

Ever really wonder if God has your back? I mean really do you often think with all the little, or even big, things that go wrong that maybe sometimes you wonder if God is listening? I do sometime wonder why some really crappy things happen to us while others do as they please. Why is everything right as rain for them, but I feel out in left field all alone?

I had my question, or prayer, revealed to me this week.

But first I must start with a story that happened not so long ago...

Summer 2010: When we finally were able to replace our furnace/air condition because the air condition part of it croaked three years prior. It was something we just lived with and it wasn't as bad as you'd think. Until we found out what was happening behind the scenes.

For those three years, and maybe longer, due to our broken furnace/air conditioner carbon monoxide was being pumped into our house at a 100% for three winters. I swear if it weren't for the original windows that leaked air in and out {we have a 100-year-old home} we would have died, all of us including our precious furbabies.

We were reminded that God had our backs and if we had put plastic over the windows to conserve energy like we'd wanted, none of us would even be here.

Fast forward to this past week. {March 2014} We had no other choice but to have some construction work done on our bathroom, living room, and dining room because years ago we had a water damage. After years of putting it off, I was glad it was finally going to be taken care of.

There was delays and set backs, but the bathroom was finished and now looks pretty good. As T {our contractor} started on the plastering, he found a rusted out pipe that was leaking. Turns out that it was leaking methane gas into our home for who knows how long. It had to be around fifteen years or more, since that's how long we've lived in our current house.

First carbon monoxide, now methane gas. {Which by the way, it isn't odorless!!}

I've learned a lot this week. I've learned not to take as much for granted and realize who I can rely on to help us out when we need it. I have also been reminded that God has been working overtime in protecting us against the methane gas.

If you have any doubt that God isn't listening, remind yourself that there is always something out there that could hurt you and the reason why you're still here on this earth is because God is protecting you from something, anything that might harm you.

With all this said, I think we can survive some zombies. Go ahead, bring it!
