Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker Event

Traveling…traveling…I’ve been a-traveling! It’s been such a fun experience these past few months with Bliss at Home! Today, I wanted to share my trip to New York City for the 2014 Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker Workshop and Party. This was an all-day event hosted by BHG in their New York offices in Midtown and it ended with a fabulous party at the Gansevoort Park Hotel.

My trip started the day before the event. After flying in, I met up with my roomates Kelly from View Along the Way and Darlene from Fieldstone Hill. I love these girls to bits! A girl couldn’t ask for more sweet and fun buds!!

Darlene, Kelly, and yours truly.

We met up with a group of bloggers in town for dinner and then had a magical evening on the rooftop of the Kimberly Hotel for drinks and girl talk. Darlene’s good friend, Caroline, who lives in the city, was our guide and so wonderfully sweet to spend time with us. I just love the energy of the city at night and we had the perfect view of the Chrysler Building and NYC skyline.

Our day started early the next morning with a breakfast at the BHG offices. 70 of us home, food, and fashion bloggers got to gab the morning away.

My sweet blogging friend, Jen of iheartorganizing.com, and I showed up wearing the same skirt and leopard heels…I feared if there was a side by side “who wore it better” her darling beauty and petite frame would win that style match-up! We made light of it and yes…she wore it better!

The workshop portion of the day was full of great tips and really inspiring. We each got to select sessions ahead of time and we spent the day in small groups going from session to session. I really, really loved this part! The sessions were led by BHG editors and we got to hear about how they do things at the magazine as they shared their processes and tips. Some really great conversations sprung from these groups. Oh, and Eddie Ross…he is just as awesome and talented as you think he would be! His styling session was tops on my list!

After our workshop sessions wrapped up, we went to the Better TV studio and got to hear from 3 of the stylemakers featured in the September issue. Nate Berkus led the discussion and it was fun to hear their perspectives.

The panel from left to right: Gen Sohr, Gaby Dalkin, Susan Feldman, and Nate Berkus…but I think you already know that!

Our eventful day wrapped up with a fabulous party at the Gansevoort Park Hotel. It was decked out with fab furnishings and was the perfect way to celebrate our time with BHG.

Do you see my tall blondness above?? See if you can spot me!

It was a whirlwind of a day and I am so happy Better Homes & Gardens invited me to this fabulous event! I got to spend time with blogging buds and meet and learn from the people behind the magazine I love. Doesn’t get much better than that!

So, pinch me! I am loving the journey and so glad I can share it with all of you!
